Edmond “Ed” Cervi, 95, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2019 in Catonsville, MD. Ed was born on January 18, 1924 in Yukon, PA. to Dea (nee Govi) and Edmond Cervi. Ed married Irene in Pittsburgh, PA in 1949. They were married 70 years. The family resided in the community of Ben Oaks on the Severn in Severna Park.
Ed served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a fighter pilot and instructor in Pensacola FL. Ed attended college on the G.I. Bill and was employed by Westinghouse in the aerospace program as an engineer and later as a contracts manager. Upon retirement, Ed and Irene traveled extensively to Canada, Mexico and across America in their motorhome. Ed was a devoted husband, loving father, fine woodworker, and wise counselor. His love and warm humor will be missed.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Irene, his son Mark, his daughter Jana Carmack (Doug), daughter Rene Cervi, granddaughter Ashley Crawford, and two great-grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his sister Doris Seanor. Interment will be at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
