Douglas Morgan's memorial service/Celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 16 at the Ambrose funeral home, 1328 Sulphur Springs Rd., Arbutus, MD. Visitation will be at 11 AM, the service at noon, and a luncheon at the Townhall after the service.
Douglas Adams Morgan was born on December 20, 1947. He died peacefully in his sleep on July 29, 2024. He grew up in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Doug started college at the University of Hawaii, and then transferred to the University of California Riverside where he earned a bachelor's degree in botany.
Doug was an accomplished musician. He began piano lessons at five and added the trombone at nine. He played in the Social Security band, as well as the Chet Kellum big band. He also played in the University of Texas marching band.
He enjoyed bingo both at the hall and at home with his Sunday afternoon friends. He was also an accomplished trivia player, and always knew the answers when Jeopardy was on.
When the time came that his Parkinson's got worse and made it unable for him to stay in his home, he was lovingly cared for by Coleen and Tina at Sunflower Hill in Westminster, MD.
Doug was a member Cedarhurst Unitarian Universalist Church in Westminster. He also belonged to the Prime Timers, a social organization.
He leaves his sister, Sandra Morgan of West Hartford, CT and his brother, Henry Morgan, and his wife, Glenna of Schaumburg, IL. He also leaves multiple nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful "Uncle Doug." He also leaves his good friend, Mike Ruby, and countless other friends.
