Dorothy Kathleen Elza (nee White), 82, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2015 in Ellicott City, Maryland. She was born on September 22, 1932 in Dryfork, West Virginia to John L. and Minnie White. On July 5, 1955 she married the late Tommy K. Elza and relocated to Baltimore, Maryland where she remained for most of her adult life. She worked for Adell Plastics for several years until her retirement in 2001. She is survived by her children; Deborah and Christopher Burke of Sykesville, Md., Dennis Elza of Arbutus, MD., and her grandson Glenn Burke of Kaneohe Bay, HI. She is also survived by sisters Janet Williams of Odenton, MD, Shirley Chew of Painsville, OH, and Connie Deadrick of Petersburg, WV., and brother-in-laws Mario Cardella, Norman Williams, and Bill Deadrick. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Elza on September 8, 1992 and her siblings Olive Cardella of NJ on April 21, 2014, John L. White Jr. (June) of WV on December 19, 1978, Sarah A. Hoffman of WV on May 5, 2003 and Norman F. White (Bunny) of OH on January 15, 1972.
A memorial service will be held at the Lansdowne Assembly of God Church, 132 Fifth Avenue, Lansdowne, MD 21227 on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 12:00 noon. A graveside service is being planned for Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Flanagan Memorial Cemetery, in Dryfork, WV. Donations may be made in Dorothy's name to the Lansdowne Assembly of God Church, 132 Fifth Avenue, Lansdowne, MD 21227 or to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
