Doris Hall Collins (nee Gardner), 89, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2015 in Stephens City, VA. She was born on April 26, 1925 in Baltimore, MD, daughter of the late Ernest W. and Clara E. Gardner. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence E. Collins, brother Howard R. Gardner and sister Mary Josephine Root.
Surviving are her daughters Joan C. Sarna and her husband Malcolm of Maurertown, VA, Rebecca S. Dorian and her husband Dennis of Gambrills, MD, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Doris graduated from Western High School and Bard Avon Business School, then worked as a private secretary before her marriage. She was very active in the Over Fifty Club and the Lansdowne-Baltimore Highlands Senior Center before her move to Virginia in 2012. Doris enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Family and friends may call at Ambrose Funeral Home of Lansdowne, 2719 Hammonds Ferry Rd. on Friday, April 10th from 3 PM to 5 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11th at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge.
