On November 28, 2021 Donald E. Flory passed away. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn Flory and his son Jeff Flory. He is lovingly survived by his daughter Kelly Drosdak and her husband Lee, of Frederick; cherished grandfather of Dr. Alyssa Drosdak and her husband Greg Revak of Columbus, OH, & Adam Drosdak of Baltimore, MD.
Donald Flory was born in Franklin County, PA and was the son of the late Lodema and Ralph Flory, Sr. Donald Flory enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1948. He served his country proudly assigned to the 5th Air Force Far East Command 808th Aviation Engineer Battalion and the 34th Transportation Squadron, French Morocco, North Africa. He earned the rank of E-5 Staff Sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1953. Upon leaving the Air Force, Donald studied welding in Chambersburg, PA and started his own welding business in Cavetown, MD. He was recognized as an accomplished welder and later worked for Maryland Machine & Foundry, Hagerstown, MD and Bechtel Corporation. While at Bechtel, Donald was promoted to the position of General Foreman and managed 150 employees during the construction of Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Station. Donald continued to serve as General Foreman/Supervisor and was instrumental in the construction of North Anna Nuclear Power Station, VA., Opossum Point Generation Station, VA, Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, MD, Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant, NY and Salem Generation Station in NJ. Donald had a love for farming, motorcycle rides and enjoyed earning his pilot license. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many years hunting and fishing with his friends. Donald was the Past Master of the Masonic Lodge Salem 196, Smithsburg, MD.

A celebration of life will take place at Bethel United Methodist Church in Rohrersville MD (4301 Main Street 21779) on Friday December 3rd at 11AM. Officiating will be Rev. Schlidt.
