Daniel Blackston, Sr.

Daniel Blackston, Sr., age 31, sadly passed away on October 22, 2015. He was born on April 17, 1984 in Baltimore, Maryland to his beloved and devoted parents Joseph Blackston, Sr. and Patricia A. Blackston. He is the loving and proud father of Daniel Blackston, Jr. and Makhia Blackston; dear brother of Joseph Blackston, Jr. (Sheila), Milton Blackston (Lenore), Tracie P. Carter (Derrick), Kellie Blackston Keys, Lakeisha Blackston, James J. Blackston, Sr., Patricia A. Thomas (Darius, Sr.), Marcus Blackston (Shawana), and Dorothy A. Blackston; cherished uncle of 25 nieces and nephews and 2 great nieces; close special little cousin of Trina Blackston; also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and associates.

Daniel was a loving father, son, brother, nephew, uncle and cousin. But above all he was a child of God. Daniel was baptized in September of 1994 at the age of 10. When he was younger he wanted to be a preacher. He loved his son and daughter dearly and always wanted the best for them. Daniel was a very kind and loving person. He was often rough and tough on the outside but a soft gentle man on the inside. The inside is the real person not the tent that the Lord bless each and every one of us with. To truly know Daniel was to love him. There are so many things that come to mind when thinking of Daniel. He loved all children tremendously. He was a fast swimmer and great at it. He was also a great fighter and could have been a great boxer. He loved to sing. One of Daniel's favorite TV shows was Star Trek: The Next Generation. He enjoyed eating whatever was in the fridge that didn't belong to him. Some of his favorite snacks were kandy cakes, watermelon, grapes and so much more. His son Daniel informed us that his favorite soda was Dr. Pepper. He enjoyed being a fun and loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews, they adored him. He was very protective of his sisters Patricia and Dorothy and baby brother Marcus growing up. Daniel is the 8th of 10 children to his loving and devoted parents. We often say the older half and the younger half when describing us. He’s a part of the younger half. James, Patricia, Daniel,Marcus and Dorothy, five peas in a pod. Childhood often comes to mind when thinking of him. Daniel was very appreciative and thankful for his parents. That came with growth and maturity. We miss the sound of his voice, his touch, his smile, his laugh and his physical being. Gone from this world but never ever forgotten.

A viewing was held at Ambrose Funeral Home of Lansdowne 2719 Hammonds Ferry Rd. on Monday November 2, from 4:00 - 8:00pm. A wake was held at the Central Church of Christ 4301 Woodridge Rd, Baltimore, MD 21229 on Tuesday November 3 at 10:30am followed by a funeral service at 11am. Burial followed in Parkwood Cemetery.
