Courtney Messer (Nee Thornton)

Courtney Lynn (Thornton) Messer, age 29 passed away on September 26, 2019 in Detroit, Michigan. Courtney was the loving wife of Brandon Messer; beloved daughter of Cynthia Collins and Roger Thornton Jr. and step daughter of Susan Thornton and Michael Peed; dear sister of Nicole Collins, Shannon Collins-Braun and her husband Eric, Will Thornton III, Megan Jennings and her husband Michael, step sister of Mark Fisher and Melissa Sechrist; caring granddaughter of Carolyn Thornton, Michael Collins Sr. and his wife Dawn, and Sharon Collins; cherished aunt of Hadley, Chloe, Trenton, Angel, MJ, Eli, Jayden, Brooke, and Ethan. Predeceased in death by her grandfather Will Thornton Sr., her brother Jason Collins, and her niece Brianna Jennings. Courtney is also survived by aunts, uncles cousins other loving relatives and friends.

Family members and friends will honor Courtney’s life at the family owned and operated AMBROSE FUNERAL HOME, INC. (Arbutus) with a public viewing on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 12pm-3pm where a funeral service will follow the same day beginning at 3pm.
