Chester “Chuck” DelMartin of Arbutus passed on August 30, 2024. Originally from California, the army brought him to Maryland where he found his beloved bride, Geraldine. The two relocated to California, but returned to Maryland twelve years later with their two children Jeffrey and Christine. A man of many skills, Chuck worked for Verizon (formerly Bell Atlantic Coin Center in Woodlawn) until his retirement where he went on to work for Sears and Enterprise Rent-A-Car. A resident of Arbutus for 47 years, he was a lover of sports and dedicated much of his time to Arbutus Little League and recreation basketball. He is survived by his wife Gerry; son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Maria DelMartin; daughter and son-in-law Christine and Rus Eyring; grandchildren Ashley Gerald (Tony), Christine DelMartin, Kaelin Clements, Jeffrey DelMartin (Maxine), Ronald Clements III (Kayla), Seth Eyring, and Sarina Eyring; great grandchildren Ahmya, Alexander, and Adelina Gerald, and Reagan DelMartin; in-laws Allen and Denise Bosley and Michael and Kathy Mellon;, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Ambrose Funeral Home will be open for public visitation on Wednesday, September 4th from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral service begins at 11:30 AM on Thursday, September 5th with interment at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie immediately after.
In lieu of flowers, his wishes were that donations be made to his favorite charities: St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children, or the American Cancer Society.
