On July 27, 2024, Catherine (Cass) Drenner, 93 of Arbutus, MD, was called home. Cass was born on August 17, 1930 to the late Roy Redifer and Margaret Redifer. She was the beloved wife of the late William (Don) Drenner; devoted mother of Kathy Fox (Bruce), Doug Drenner (Yolanda), Jade Drenner (Cindy), Dennis Drenner (Karen) and Jean Rigg (Bob). Cass was blessed with 9 loving grandchildren and adored by 16 great-grandchildren.
Cass spent 54 years working as a School Guard for the Baltimore County Police Department in the Halethorpe/Arbutus area. She loved her job and adored the children she interacted with during the school year. Cass loved music, especially Frank Sinatra and the big bands. When Cass heard music, she was dancing. She loved her family, her faith and the Arbutus community. She was very active in her children’s schools, the Dewey Lowman Post 109 Auxiliary Unit, the Catholic Daughters of the Church of the Ascension parish, teen center and Arbutus athletics. She loved spending time with her family, attending the Arbutus 4th of July parade, chilling at the beaches in Ocean City, the family Thanksgiving Day gathering, football, especially the Army/Navy game and following Notre Dame, the Orioles and a good Maryland crab cake.
Family and friends may gather at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 4:00-7:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Church of the Ascension in Halethorpe, MD on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10:00 am.
One of Cass's favorite community activities was attending the Arbutus 4th of July Parade. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Arbutus 4th of July Parade fund by sending checks to 1334 Sulphur Spring Road- Attention Carl Boyd. Be sure to mention Cass’s memory with your donation.
