Sadly, on October 9, 2023, Carnell Williams, 83, of Catonsville, Maryland passed away.
Carnell was born in Sneedville, Tennessee to the late Doc and Lilly Mae Williams. He was the loving husband of the late Norma Jean Williams (Hopkins). He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, tinkering around the house, listening to bluegrass music and visiting his family and friends in Sneedville, Tennessee. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Carnell is the beloved father of daughters Donna Adcock (Fred) and Diana Gurney (Don); cherished grandpop of Chad Melton, Zachary Adcock (Sophie), Jacob Adcock (Stephanie) and Abigail Gurney; caring brother of Jewell Collins, Drew Williams (Vi), Joe Swiney, Jackie Swiney, Janis Roberts (Carlos). Carnell is survived by many other loving family members and friends.
Along with his parents and wife, Carnell is preceded in death by siblings Rosevelt Williams, Cecil Williams, Opal Williams, Polly Bell, Monroe Williams, Johnny Swiney and Rocky Williams.
A visitation will be held at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, Halethorpe MD 21227 on Wednesday from 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11am followed by burial at Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Carnell’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
