Bernhard Masevicius

January 31, 1952 — August 13, 2014

On August 13th, 2014, Bernhard "Hut" Masevicius passed away. "Hut" Immigrated from Schwetzingen, Germany to Baltimore, Maryland in 1957 when he was only 5. He served as an Antitank Assaultman in the United States Marine Corp. from 1969 to 1971. "Hut" was a certified EMT, but he spent most of his career as a Track Foreman for Amtrak from which he eventually retired. Hut is survived by his son David Masevicius; his grandchildren Joshua Masevicius, Matthew Masevicius, Megan Masevicius, Christian Masevicius, and Cheyenne Masevicius; his long time partner Debbie Walters and her son Jonathan Ambrose; his sister Eleanor Brown; and his brothers 1SG Robert Masevicius and Ronald Masevicius. "Hut" was predeceased by his parents Bruno Masevicius and Anni Masevicius (nee Weigand).

A public viewing will be held at Ambrose Funeral Home of Lansdowne, 2719 Hammonds Ferry Rd., Lansdowne, MD 21227 on Saturday, August 16th from 3 PM to 5 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM. A funeral service will take place Saturday at 4 PM. Hut's ashes will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
