Alvina Martin

Alvina Eleanor Martin, age 101, passed away on March 1, 2016 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born on February 23, 1915 in Lansdowne, Maryland to the late George David Haberkorn and Ethel St. Clair Haberkorn (nee Banks). Alvina was the beloved wife of the late William B. Martin for 41 yrs before his passing. Loving mother of Judith St. Clair Martin. Also, survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Alvina decided to start flying at the late age of 65. Once she started to fly she would travel once a year. She was a part of the Lansdowne Homemaker Group and the Card Club. Alvina was known to drive old ladies around up until she decided to stop driving at the age of 95 years old. Everyone loved her pound cake. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family members and friends will honor Alvina’s life at the family owned and operated AMBROSE FUNERAL HOME OF LANSDWNE, 2719 Hammonds Ferry Rd., Lansdowne, MD 21227 on Friday from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at Our Saviour Lutheran Lutheran Church, 141 Lavern Ave., Lansdowne, MD 21227 beginning at 1:30pm. Interment to follow in Loudon Park Cemetery. At the family’s request donations in Alvina’s name may be directed to a Charity of your choice.
