John Corcoran

Royersford, PA – John M. Corcoran (Corky), 80, passed on Tuesday evening, June 2, 2016 at the Parkhouse Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospital, following a battle with Dementia.

He leaves his sons, Charles Michael and wife Martha Mileur of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Christopher Carl and wife Elizabeth Anne of Trappe, Pennsylvania.  He is also survived by five Grandchildren - Emelie Kemble, Charles Michael Jr; Phillip Huntley, Andrew Carl and Caitlin Anne.

Born on December 13, 1935 and raised in Baltimore, the son of Robert and Catherine, he was a 1954 graduate of Mount St. Joseph High School.  John married the late Charlotte Ann (Berg) on December 7, 1957 in Baltimore.   He was a 1957 graduate of the Baltimore Institute, earning an Associate of Accountancy.  John entered the United States Army in April of 1959.  He served actively and was part of the Reserves through December of 1964.

John was a Certified Public Accountant.  His career included tenures with C.W. Amos & Company, in Baltimore and Cambridge, Maryland; and Milford Fertilizer Company, Milford, Delaware.

John was a past president of the Arbutus Community Association, past Treasurer of the Cambridge Yacht Club, and past Treasurer of the Church Creek Volunteer Fire Company.  He enjoyed retirement in Keenwick Sound, Selbyville, Delaware as he was active in his church and his grandchildren’s activities and sports.  He also loved watching or listening to the Baltimore Orioles, Colts, and Ravens.

Funeral Services will be held at Ambrose Funeral Home, Arbutus, MD, on Tuesday, June 7th from 3:00 pm- 6:00 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am at Saint Bernadette’s Catholic Church, Silver Spring, MD.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Bernadette’s Catholic Church.
