Unexpectedly, on March 20, 2022, Cory Puckett (nee Rankin) passed away at the age of 31. Cory was born on September 5, 1990, to Craig and Jacqueline Rankin. She was the second born in the family, which would eventually consist of four children. From a young age, she was outspoken, strong willed, and always eager to help others. As a child, she was obsessed with dolphins and killer whales. She watched Free Willy over and over until the VHS tape would no longer play.
Cory enjoyed spending her summers in the pool with her cousins and friends. She enjoyed vacations to Ocean City, MD and many theme parks. As she got older, she developed a love for horses and enjoyed riding lessons. She loved spending time at the horse farm with her Aunt Debbie. Recently, she had started riding again as a form of therapy. Cory would help anyone and everyone with anything she could. Cory would rescue any stray animal and was known to care for many stray cats. She had an immense love of all music.
Cory was the devoted mother to Bradley, Daniel, and Everly. Her children meant the world to her, and she would do anything for them. She spent every Thursday watching Everly in dance class and would spend her weekends doing various activities with Daniel and Bradley. Anything they wanted, she would try her best to get for them.
Cory is preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline C. Rankin and grandmother Alice “Nicky” Hanssen. She was the loving mother of Bradley C. Puckett, Daniel C. Puckett, and Everly J. Ross. Devoted daughter of Craig A. Rankin and stepmother Judith L. Rankin. Caring sister of Heather R. Harris (James L. Harris III), Kelsie L. Rankin, and Andrew R. Rankin. Stepsister to Taylor M. Esser and Christopher J. Esser. Devoted aunt to Jet J. Harris and Violet Q. Harris. Beloved partner of John Nodier. Cory is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Cory was a firework, and her light will never fade away.
